Remove Difficult Carpet Stains

Even if you're careful, stains are bound to show up on your carpet. Instead of blaming your guests or your pets for a stain, work on removing the stain before it becomes permanent. Don't stress out, there is a solution to just about every type of stain. Here at Lehigh Cleanpro in Lehigh Valley, we have some tips to help you fight some of the most intimidating carpet stains.

Remove Candle Wax

Candle wax can seem like a really tough substance to remove from your carpet. Its consistency and the hard spots it creates in the fibers make it seem almost impossible to treat. Don't be fooled by this stain, it's actually quite simple to remove. Once the wax has dried, gently scrape off whatever chunks you can remove. Vacuum the area to get rid of any pieces you may have loosened while scraping. Next, moisten a cotton towel and place it over the wax. Warm up your iron and iron the waxy area. The heat will melt the wax and your towel will soak it up. Use different spots on the towel to continue ironing up the wax. Once you have soaked up as much wax as possible, treat the spot with your preferred carpet cleaner.

Remove Nail Polish

In order to avoid tricky nail polish stains, it is recommended that you paint your nails over other surfaces that are easier to clean. However, if your nail polish has already found its way onto your carpet, learn how to treat it. Get as much nail polish out as you can. If it's still wet, dab it with a paper towel, but make sure not to scrub it. If it's dry, scrape off as much as you can. Next, add some cold water to the stain and spray it with some hair spray. Add a bit of rubbing alcohol and scrub the stain with an old toothbrush. As you scrub, you can continue to add small amounts of water to keep the area moist. Keep scrubbing until the nail polish is all gone. Be sure to check out some tips on how to remove red wine stains from your carpet. Remember that treating a stain as soon as it happens can keep your carpets looking new.
